Mako declines Pirates offer, signs for Soweto neighbours

With Orlando Pirates fans still reeling from the departure of Paseka Mako, KickOff has uncovered crucial information regarding his next move, with a deal already signed.

Mako's initial contract with Pirates was set to expire in June this year, and the club announced on Friday that he was on his way out, together with Thabiso Monyane.
The pint-sized wingback has signed a three-year deal with Kaizer Chiefs, effective 1 July.
He has concluded his move to Naturena soon after turning down a new contract with The Buccaneers.
According to sources close to Pirates, the club's desperate attempts to keep Mako proved futile after the player allegedly signed a pre-contract with Amakhosi following the Nedbank Cup final in Durban in May.
"Pirates did everything to keep Mako, but the player had already made up his mind," reveals one source.
"Pirates were keen to extend his stay at the club but believed (he had) already agreed terms with Kaizer Chiefs after the Nedbank Cup final in Durban.
"There were even bigger plans to keep Mako beyond his playing days at Pirates, but the player had already made up his mind to go to Kaizer Chiefs,” added the mole.
The Glamour Boys are expected to unveil the 31-year-old together with other new signings in the next few weeks.
The squad is set to travel to the Netherlands for their pre-season training next month.
