Last month Gaxa was strangely announced as one of several players whose contracts will not be renewed at the end of June despite the fact that Amakhosi had last year made it public that the 32-year-old had signed a new two-year contract extension to run until June 2018.
The spin of events around Gaxa’s contract suddenly appears just as confusing as it could get complicated.
“Pa’s (Gaxa) issue is now sub judice because we got a letter last week from some law firm representing him. This matter is now sub judice so I cannot comment further because it might be going to the DRC,” says Bobby Motaung, the Chiefs football manager.
Gaxa’s representatives insist he still has two years to run on his deal with the club.
The former Bafana Bafana right-back has spent the past four years with Chiefs after returning from a spell in Belgium.
