Sandile Ndlovu says Siphiwe Tshabalala wasn't signed to play at AmaZulu

When Usuthu unveiled the Bafana Bafana legend at the beginning of the season there were a lot of questions about his fitness as he had not played for over a year.

However, Ndlovu believes 'Shabba' was not signed to play many games and was just a marketing strategy by businessman Sandile Zungu.

Yet he feels there is still something Tshabalala can add for a team that wants to achieve greatness.

"Shabba has done so much in his career and I don't think being at Usuthu was about him playing regularly. It was more a move that would add something brand-wise because football is business and Zungu understands that part very well," Ndlovu tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"He can still contribute by inspiring young players in the team and I think he can do more off the field than playing. There are so many roles he can play."

Tshabalala's future at the club is set to be known before end of the transfer window, with coach Benni McCarthy still mum about what will happen to the 36-year-old amid suggestions the former Kaizer Chiefs star may leave.
