Real Kings star Luvuyo Phewa wanted by PSL and European teams

Real Kings are hoping to keep Luvuyo Phewa for another season amid interest from big Absa Premiership teams and abroad.

Phewa was part of the South Africa under-20 team that took part at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland earlier this month.

snl24.com/kickoff can reveal that the 19-year-old midfielder is wanted by Orlando Pirates, Cape Town City and Highlands Park, according to a source close to Kings.

Kings coach Simo Dladla, who says Phewa is the most wanted player in his team, did not want to reveal clubs that are after him but confirms interest from Europe.

"Bafo, where did you get those news? Yes, he's wanted by big teams in the PSL but I can't really reveal the clubs because we are still talking. It's not only him wanted but many of our players are targeted," Dladla says.

"Phewa is not only targeted by local clubs, even in Poland, Turkey, Portugal and Germany, but we can't mention names because we are still talking with his agent that is dealing with his business in Europe. But for me I would love to keep him at least for another season."

Earlier this year, Real Kings managed to keep their top players to survive relegation in the National First Division but it seems it will be more difficult to deal with pressure from other clubs this pre-season.
