Cape Town Spurs registered a 1-0 win over Maritzburg United to maintain their perfect start in the PSL Promotional Play-offs on Saturday afternoon.
Jose Ali Meza and Amadou Soukouna were recalled to the Team of Choice side following the win midweek over Casric Stars while Spurs were without Boitumelo Radiopane through injury.
Spurs did draw first blood though after 16 minutes played when veteran Michael Morton picked up a loose ball from close-range and tucked in as goalkeeper Renaldo Leaner fumbled a high-ball.
The Team of Choice eagerly looked to draw level shortly after trailing, but battled to get rhythm on the ball, in advanced areas and importantly beyond the defensive-lines.
With the tempo evenly matched, Spurs were close to go two goals up before the halftime interval from a rasping shot by Asenele Velebayi but Leaner parried.

The home team did get moments to further their advantage before they introduced a double substitution in Chumani Butsaka and Luvuyo Phewa.Spurs worked a massive chance to go two up with 15 minutes to go after a ball in behind set substitute Phewa clear, but Leaner was able to make the save.
Yet another opening followed ten minutes from time where Ashley Cupido got on a square pass across the six-yard area and slammed against the base of the post.
The Team of Choice had a rare sight at goal five minutes before time after substitute Karim Kimvuidi ran into space to play in Wayde Jooste on the far-end, but Spurs goalkeeperr Lincoln Vyer thwarted.
Spurs continued to have the better of the openings though as Phewa missed another one-on-one having beaten the offside trap three minutes from time.
In the end, Shaun Bartlett's men enjoyed the better of the closing exchanges and picked up their second win in the play-offs.
