Mosimane has been under pressure to produce results this season after the Brazilians’ poor start to the 2015/16 campaign.
However, the pressure on ‘Jingles’ has been relieved somewhat following back-to-back wins against Ajax Cape Town and Jomo Cosmos, and he looks set to keep his job at Chloorkop.
“I like to take the good and leave the negative. I am not a coach who quits. I don't quit, no matter how difficult it is, I don't quit,” declares Mosimane.
“I think you know how many years I have coached in the PSL, it’s 14 years with only two teams. So I stay, I would like to stay. I don't hope. While I have a job, I am not looking for another job. I try to do my best.
“I had my contract at SuperSport [United] and I don’t know how many times it was renewed. I don’t like hoping, I give my best and my best is to try and deliver trophies, and I wish to deliver more trophies at Sundowns.”
Despite being confident that his job is safe, Mosimane concedes that there is huge pressure coaching big teams like Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
“Any coach’s job is safe when you’re winning, it’s a simple formula. If you win more than you lose, you have more chance of keeping your job,” explains Mosimane.
“So we need to start winning. We should try to win the League, we should try to win the cup, and try to go to the group stages of the [CAF] Champions League.
“Football is like that across the whole world, we are all under pressure. If you ask Pitso, yes I am under pressure. I think Steve Komphela is under pressure to win the League and cup at [Kaizer] Chiefs. [Eric] Tinkler is under pressure [at Orlando Pirates] to win the League and do well in Africa.
“Gavin Hunt is under pressure to win a trophy for Wits and so is [Gordon] Igesund [at SuperSport], we are all under pressure, it’s life. Bra Shakes is under pressure to turn things around [at Bafana Bafana], [Jose] Mourinho is under pressure and his team [Chelsea] is not doing well,” he concludes.
