KICK OFF first met Manyathela junior in June 2010 [Manyathela Reborn – Edition 378] and the youngster posed for our photographer in Kaizer Chiefs colours, insisting his dream was to play for the Glamour Boys.
However, he could well follow in his father's footsteps ... in Sundowns colours.
The 11-year-old is playing for the Brazilians' Under-11 and Under-13 teams after he was spotted towards the end of last year.
"Neo is now at Sundowns ... they chose them at school last year and he went for trials and passed," his mother, Xoliswa Vilakazi, reveals.
"They are being coached by Johannes 'Bricks' Mudau [former Sundowns and Chiefs defender] and two other coaches at a local school in Soshanguve," she adds.
Manyathela senior, befittingly nicknamed 'Slow Poison' for his goal scoring ability, had netted 48 goals in 73 appearances for Bucs when he died tragically in a car accident on the N1 in Musina on August 9, 2003.
Neo was just two years old.
