In this week's edition of My First, KickOff catches up with former Kaizer Chiefs defender Themba Seli.
Seli remembers his journey in the football industry and at the same time reveals his first experiences in life.
My first school:
"For me, it all started at Thusanong Primary, I'm from the Free State. I was straight from creche, so I was used to the setup.
"I was six years old. I was already used to playing the whole day with other kids, so I thought it was the same thing. I was happy to see so many children in one place."
My first kiss:
"I'm really into kissing, so I don't remember who was my first. I kissed so many of them I can't even remember.
"A kiss is such a special thing, it proves whether you are loved or not."
My first favourite club:
"Kaizer Chiefs. I loved that club from my young age. I loved the players they had those days. The likes of Teenage Dladla and Malombo Lechaba were just too good.
"But in my games against them, I didn't feel sorry for them, I always wanted to do well against them so they they signed me."
My first soccer boots:
"Adidas Copa Mundial. My father bought them for me."
My first goal:
"I was playing for Vaal Professionals against Orlando Pirates. In the NSL era. Though we lost the match 2-1. It was in 1993."
My first red card:
"I never received one. Only four yellow cards."
My first individual award:
"I won the Most Improved Player award at Free State Stars, 1997."
My first trophy with a club:
"I never won any cup. The closest I got was being runner-up with Free State Stars in the Rothmans Cup. And at Chiefs, I never got to win any trophy. It was a tough year for us."
My first car:
"Corolla 1.8 Sprinter. The most important thing to me was to drive, I was not picky. I was still playing at Qwa Qwa Stars. I bought it for about R180 000."
