Maritzburg United in transfer talks with Orlando Pirates for extended Tebogo Tlolane loan

This website confirmed last week that left-back Tebogo Tlolane returned to parent club Pirates at the end of the 2019/20 season following a successful loan spell with The Team of Choice.

Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia has now revealed that they are in talks with the Soweto club to get the player back on loan for another season.

"We made a request to Orlando Pirates to extend Tlolane's loan deal with us and we are waiting for them," Kadodia told the media.

Kadodia also said there are no offers in his inbox yet for star defensive pair Rushine De Reuck and Richard Ofori, who have also been linked with The Buccaneers.

"I've made this point clear before and would like to say it again, there is no offer at the table at this point for those players," he said.

"We will look to motivate players to continue at Maritzburg United for next season and what we need to understand is when you do a deal it must be beneficial for the player and the club.

"The club has to benefit also, so these things are very sensitive and if I get anything on the table it will give some guidance.

"For now our focus is on the season and most speculation has been coming from journalists implying that they are wanted by Gauteng teams, and it's unnecessary media speculation."

There were several top performers at Maritzburg last season including midfielders Keagan Buchanan and Phumlani Ntshangase, who was on loan from Bidvest Wits.

"Buchanan still has one year on his contract with us, he will be wearing the colours of Maritzburg United next season," Kadodia added. "And with Ntshangase, we will probably compete his [permanent] deal."
