The Bafana Bafana midfielder has now netted in three of his last four games and is back to full fitness following a troublesome ankle injury picked up in May.
The victory means Goteborg advance 2-0 on aggregate having surprisingly been held goalless by Fola Esch in the home leg last week.
They now face a much tougher test in the next stage against Hungarian side Gyori ETO, with the first leg away next Thursday.
It was not such a good night for Cheyne Fowler, who did not play as his Finnish side lost 2-0 at Swedish strugglers Brommapojkarna and exit 3-2 on aggregate.
Joel Untersee was also not involved for Lichtenstein side FC Vaduz, who won 1-0 at College Europa from Gibraltar to secure a 4-0 aggregate success. They advance to play Ruch Chorzów from Poland in the next stage.
There will be more South African interest in the competition next week when goalkeeper Dani Amos and his Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv join the competition with a home match against Astana from Kazakhstan.
