The former Orlando Pirates and Arcadia Shepherds shot-stopper shares what he witnessed in both teams's change rooms.
Who was always late?
"Nobody. That never happened as we travelled together with a team transport. So in general people weren't late. There is an exception due to unforeseen circumstances. I don't recall ever being late myself."
Any interesting ritual before they played?
"It was all up to the individuals, people did different things, they had different superstitions.
"At Pirates, there were one or two things done to everybody before a game, and that was it.
"You know, in football, if someone does or believes in something, they will keep it to themselves."
Who was the jokester?
"At Arcadia, we had quite a few, and at Pirates, it was Bashin, 'Tso' Makhanya, and Mandla Sithole who always spoke a lot and laughed a lot."
Who was the singer?
"Shakes Gwabeni, Tebogo Moloi, he used to watch movies on a Sunday morning in our hotel room. He used to watch Indian movies."
Who was the best dressed and the worst dressed?
"Bashin [Albert Mahlangu] he was fashionable, and generally everybody was dressed well in their club uniforms like tracksuits."
Who never showered?
"Everybody showered."
Which coach gave the best team talk?
"There were a few good coaches, and they all gave the best team talks that got you pumped up so nicely for the game, Stan Laporte and Roy Matthews.
"At Pirates, I played under Dave Roberts."
