Incidentally, it is Dikwena who handed Amakhosi their only defeat this season – albeit on penalties after a 0-0 draw in the Telkom Knockout.
Chiefs' 2-0 victory over Orlando Pirates on Saturday continued Amakhosi's strong recent record over the Buccaneers and means they now have double the number of League points as Pirates.
However, another League record that was once held by Pirates was actually squashed prior to the Soweto Derby.
Chiefs are now 14 games unbeaten in the League this season, but looking at their unbeaten sequence including the back end of last season, they are now on a run of 19 games unbeaten in the Absa Premiership as they were last on the losing side against Mpumalanga Black Aces on April 9.
The record for unbeaten sequence in a single League season (17) is held by Pirates (August 6, 2004 to January 22, 2005 under Kosta Papic) and SuperSport United (September 9 to December 12, 2009 on their way to lifting the Absa Premiership title for the second time).
As a sequence of unbeaten games, Chiefs now easily have the record (19) but if one only counts a single League season (not across seasons), they technically need four more wins to 'officially' claim the record.
Their next four League games are against Stars tonight (9/12), Chippa United (13/12), Free State Stars (16/12) – all at Peter Mokaba Stadium – and Mpumalanga Black Aces (20/12) at FNB Stadium.

The record for longest unbeaten sequence in the League is held by Chiefs, who went 31 matches without defeat across seasons between January 15 and October 29, 2005 on their way to lifting the 2004/05 Absa Premiership title under Ted Dumitru, and the start of the 2005/06 season under Ernst Middendorp.
If Stuart Baxter's side are to surpass that, they will need to avoid defeat until after April 22 next year when there will be only three League games remaining.
