Kaizer Chiefs confirm knee surgery for Lebohang Lesako

Kaizer Chiefs rookie Lebohang Lesako has been dealt a blow following confirmation that he has been ruled out for a few weeks with a knee injury.

Chiefs confirmed on Friday that Lesako underwent surgery following his awkward landing during the side's 3-0 win over Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila in midweek.

The 21-year-old last just six minutes from his entrance onto the park for Leonardo Castro before being stretched off after a missed opportunity to grab his first professional goal on Tuesday.

He could now miss the next month after a minor procedure was done on his knee.

"Lesako will be out for 3 of 4 weeks after a knee injury. Speed recovery!" read a statement from the club.

Meanwhile, defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele is a doubt for this weekend's encounter against Stellenbosch FC and will undergo a late fitness test.

"Captain Ramahlwe is undergoing a late fitness test after a hamstring injury," further stated the update.

On a positive note, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, who scored his third goal of the season in his last outing, has been declared fit to play after initial fears of an injury this week.

"Ngcobo is available for selection after limping out before the match ended on Tuesday."
