Shabba marked the milestone by scoring as well as providing an assist in a 2-0 win over Free State Stars on Saturday at Charles Mopeli Stadium.
The 29-year-old tells snl24.com/kickoff he is grateful for all the support.
“Yoh, I’m very happy especially because I have reached that number playing for a big team. It is a milestone … I’m over the moon,” Shabba delights.
“Growing up, I always wanted to play for Chiefs and it feels like yesterday when I used to watch my role model Doctor Khumalo playing. I would go out to the streets after watching him on TV to try to do what he did in a match. He inspired me to work hard to play for Chiefs and Bafana Bafana,” he says.
“I’m truly grateful to the Almighty. I’m grateful to my family for the support and my past and present coaches as well as players. I also want to thank my critics because they take me out of my comfort zone,” Tshabalala continues.
The former Ea Lla Koto ace attributes his consistency to being a professional.
“I just work hard and rest as much as I can,” he says.
In conclusion, Tshabalala adds that he has no specific target in terms of the number of matches he wants to play for the club, but just to continue enjoying his game.
“I just want to continue playing and enjoying football while achieving success with my team, that’s all,” he concludes.
