Former Bidvest Wits midfielder Daylon Claasen has resurfaced at the KZN club, hoping to secure a deal after parting ways with Bidvest Wits.

The Cape Town-born midfielder has been spotted training with the Team of Choice in Polokwane, where the club is currently having their pre-season camp ahead of the 2019/20 PSL campaign.

United are looking to bring in new midfielders after losing Ndlovu and Makaringe to Soweto giants Orlando Pirates. Claasen would not doubt bring in valuable experience as Maritzburg look to have a much better season compared to the last.

According to a source close to the KZN club, Classen is seen as a good replacement for Ndlovu.

"Claasen has joined Maritzburg United for their pre-season training," said the source.

"He could be the right candidate to replace Siphesihle Ndlovu who left the club to join Orlando Pirates," he added.

Maritzburg have already signed Phumlani Ntshangase to bolster their midfield for the new season, while Thamsanqa Sangweni has also been on trial.
