Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC played to a 1-1 draw in their DStv Premiership encounter on Wednesday evening.
Defender Olisa Ndah started from Pirates' side that edged Swallows FC so did Tebogo Tlolane, Ben Motshwari and Bandile Shandu, but Stellies debuted 19-year-old Oswin Andries.
Pirates encountered a difficult opening where the high-press from Stellies made life difficult and saw Fawaaz Basadien flash a low shot from a tight angle beyond target.
The Maroons were forced to a substitution as youngster Glen Hahn struggled to carry on playing and was evidently withdrawn for Antonio Van Wyk.
This introduction nearly brought an instant reward after Van Wyk darted out wide and opened an angle only to find the side-netting.
Stellies provided more threats before the half-hour mark when skipper Rafiq De Goede's header from a corner-kick watched Innocent Maela scooped off the goal-line.
However, the Buccaneers grabbed the lead against the run of play after Nkosinathi Sibisi towered unchecked in the area and headed in off the upright on the cusp of halftime.

Seven minutes into the second half, the Pirates defence cracked as Junior Mendieta leaped over Maela at the back-post ten minutes in the second half and headed into the far corner.
The Buccaneers looked to regain the lead and a double substitution late on followed with the returning Vincent Pule in for Dlamini and debutant Miguel Timm on for Motshwari.
Both sides were out looking for the winner in the final stages of the second half, but neither succeeded as it finished all square in the Western Cape.
