Sekhukhune brought back the experienced players, Nyiko Mobbie, Sello Motsepe, Ryan De Jongh and Sibusiso Hlubi, alongside Thabang Sibanyoni while Arrows were unchanged, with Knox Mutizwa and Pule Mmodi leading the attack.
Afaba Bes'thende made their intentions clear of getting an early goal in the opening exchanges but Babina Noko were not yielding at the back, denying them clear goal-scoring opportunities.
However, Mutizwa had a big chance to break the deadlock for Lehlohonolo Seema's charges after the water break, just before the half-hour mark after a lovely cross by Mthokozisi Dube but he guided a free header inside the box over the bar.
Sekhukhune were not sitting back in the closing phase of the first stanza and Sibanyoni had a good chance to get the breakthrough with seven minutes left of the first stanza after a cross found him unmarked at the back post but he could not find the target and the first stanza ended without goals as a result.
Abafana Bes'thende made a triple substitution at half-time, as Micahel Gumede came on for Siyabonga Khumalo in a tactical switch, Nduduzo Sibiya replaced Saziso Magawana and Velemseni Ndwandwe came on for Simo Mbhele, both fresh legs.
Gumede gave Arrows a perfect start in the second stanza after breaking the deadlock seven minutes from the half-time with a strike inside the box from Nkosinathi Sibisi's pass.
Babina Noko made a double change on the hour-mark to rescue the game as Tshediso Patjie replaced Cheslyn Jampies for fresh legs and Blessing Sarupinda came on for De Jongh in a tactical move.
Sekhukhune were eventually awarded a penalty in the last eight minutes after a handball inside the box and Yusuf Mart made no mistake, levelling matters.
