Angolan back in SA after a decade away

Former SuperSport United forward João Gomes de Oliveira is back in South Africa with intentions of playing in the Betway Premiership again.

Oliveira – as known as Filhao – spent four months at SuperSport during the second half of the 2013/14 season after being recruited from Petro de Luanda on loan.

He was an 18-year-old at the time and had minutes in seven games before returning to his parent club.

Since then, he has played all his football in Angola besides a brief spell spent in Tanzania at Singida Black Stars.

His last club was Kabuscorp SC in Angola’s Girabola.

"I believe I have unfinished business here in South Africa," says Oliveira.

"I have come back here as a free agent and more experienced than I was back then," he notes.

His representative, Rui Frois, confirms that plans are underway to place Oliveira back in the PSL.

"We are talking to a few clubs and considering the options in this market," says Frois.
