Ajax Cape Town and Tendai Ndoro arbitration set to commence with SAFA

The matter which was thrown out of court a fortnight ago is now headed for a formal hearing after the two parties agreed to have it heard before the national association rather than taking it to the highest footballing authority.

This was confirmed to snl24.com/kickoff by SAFA legal officer Tebogo Motlhante, who adds that a selection must now be made by the parties concerned on who will adjudicate the case.

“The matter is with SAFA. They are going to get the letter to choose the arbitrator today, and it will be heard as soon as possible,” advocate Motlhante tells this website.

The final decision on Ndoro’s eligibility and what sort of action will be taken, should it be found that he was indeed ineligible in terms of the FIFA regulations, now rests with the chosen arbitrator.

However, should the Urban Warriors be dissatisfied with the outcome, they have an option to appeal to the FIFA Players’ Status Committee and also turn to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The league will be pressed for time, however, with one fixture remaining and the relegation play-off battle involving the Cape-based side set to go down to the wire.

The play-offs are scheduled to kick off on May 16, with the two First Division sides Black Leopards and Jomo Cosmos having already confirmed their places in the three-team mini-league.
