Amber lights flashing on Kimvuidi at Pirates

The lights signalling the possibilities of Karim Kimvuidi getting a transfer done ahead of next season have been switched on at Orlando Pirates.

Kimvuidi has now spent two years at Pirates.

In his first, it was understandably slow with his 22 appearances carrying the weight of 924 minutes as the Bucs won the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup.

However, of concern was that he only played from start to finish once

Then instead of moving upwards in his second season, the 23-year-old went south playing only 382 minutes spread over 15 appearances.

There was also only one 90 minutes shift and no involvement at all in 37 matches.

This drop is what has left the Congolese unsettled and initiated discussions from his camp about giving him the keys to the gate.

For that exit to happen there has to be a transfer paid as the Congolese still has a running contract at Pirates.

So, the call will come from the club.

Kimvuidi takes up one of five foreign spots at Pirates.

Word from Congo is that Kimvuidi needs to be playing regular football to be considered for the national team again having already been in the horizon prior to joining Pirates.

Contacts in Kinshasa have spoken extensively about how much he is admired by the national team selectors.

Pirates spent millions in bringing Kimvuidi from Maritzburg United two years ago.

There had been interest from MLS club DC United, Alanyaspor from Turkey, and the Moroccan pair of RSB Berkane and Olympic Safi.
