Peter Shalulile: We knew Kaizer Chiefs' strength

The Lions of the North went through to the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup after edging Chiefs 5-4 on penalties on Saturday evening.

Shalulile scooped up the Man of the Match award on the day and admitted it was always going to be difficult going up against the league leaders.

"It was not an easy game against Chiefs, it's never easy and the weather but we managed to win the game," Shalulile told SuperSport TV.

"It was one of those games, they always want to get a goal through the set-pieces but unfortunately our defender headed the ball in the back of the net."

The Namibian forward added that they did not have time to practice set-pieces prior to facing Chiefs, as they were in midweek action against Bidvest Wits.

"We did not have time to work on that [set pieces] because we had to prepare after two days but we managed, finally we gave them some tough time. Ja we thank everyone for this.

"We worked on that after the game on Wednesday [against Bidvest Wits] and we planned against Chiefs, we told ourselves that we know what we want from this game and we know what their strength is and we just close their strength and counter on their weaknesses."
