Siphiwe Tshabalala praises Kaizer Chiefs mindset

The reigning MTN8 champions have twice come from behind to win in their seven matches so far this season, while also salvaging a draw away to Bloemfontein Celtic in their semi-final first leg.

Remarkably too, Chiefs have fought back to win by two and three goal margins in their 5-3 and 4-1 wins over Maritzburg United and SuperSport United respectively, which ‘Shabba’ believes is a positive show of character.

“I think the mindset is strong and we have strong character,” Tshabalala says. “I think it’s twice or thrice we’ve come from behind and ended up winning games, and we are scoring goals so that is a plus for us.”

The Bafana international also says the team would like to reward the efforts of coach Steve Komphela with his first piece of silverware this weekend in the MTN8 Final against Ajax Cape Town in Port Elizabeth.

“We have a good coach in Steve Komphela and he’s someone all players can relate to; very approachable, very easy, but a disciplinarian as well, so we are enjoying being around him.

“We wan’t to win this Cup and win it for him as well.”
