The Urban Warriors lifted the trophy this afternoon, having beaten Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 in a match the largely dominated, with Nathan Paulse’s penalty proving the difference.
De Sa, who has been on the losing end of five cup finals, says his young side did not only deserve to win the match in Port Elizabeth, but the tournament as well given their road to the Final.
“I thought we were good value, especially in the first half,” he said after the match. “That’s as good as I’ve seen us play. We really controlled the game and it was all a bit one-sided.
“We knew it was going to change in the second half and that they were going to come at us more; they are a good side and obviously they are going to have some half chance.
“But overall I think we deserved to win it. You beat Pirates, Chiefs and Wits … I think you deserve the Cup!”
