Pentjie Zulu laments injuries, confident in Bidvest Wits claiming League glory

Zulu hasn't played a game for his new club since he joining from Jomo Cosmos, but says if it wasn't because of his constant injuries, he would be giving teammate Sifiso Hlanti a good fight for the defensive position there are competing for as he looks set to miss out on his side’s upcoming Cup clash.

“Injuries have been killing me,” he says. “They've been delaying my progress. I will not be able to play in the MTN8 semi-final against Cape Town City, but I'm sure the guys will take us to the Final."

The 26-year-old feels he will be fit and ready for the Clever Boys’ next League assignment next week.

“I'm looking forward to playing football again,” he continued. “Last week Wednesday I sustained an ankle injury at training, but I will be back in four days’ time.

“And I might be back on the field against Polokwane City.”

Zulu believes nothing will stand in Wit’s way in winning the 2016/17 League title - not even the feared Mamelodi Sundowns.

“We will win the league,” he says with confidence. “We have a very strong team here. We are strong in every department. As for Sundowns, they have their quality and we have our quality. All I'm expecting is to win the League at the end of the season.”
