Guinea-Bissau-born striker Flavio Silva will find himself coming under severe scrutiny as Kaizer Chiefs seek to find a solution to the troublesome number nine position.
Those that had never watched Silva in action got early hints of his game on Tuesday as Chiefs went down 2-1 to Vitesse in a pre-season friendly match.

Vitesse finished bottom in the Dutch Second Division last season.
With Silva, he was handed a start by Nasreddine Nabi and was full of effort and running despite appearing clumsy on the ball.
The 29-year-old has it all to prove ahead of him in the new season playing in a league with higher demands than Indonesia’s Liga 1, where he has played for the past two-and-a-half years.
Silva has had the best times of his career playing for Persik Kediri and Persebaya Surabaya in southeast Asia after struggling in the Portuguese Second Division, where he scored 17 goals in eight years.
Will he join the success class headlined by Collins Mbesuma (37 goals) and Knowledge Musona (44 goals)?
Or will he join those classified as having had average returns at Chiefs, who include Songwe Chalwe (5 goals), Jose Torrealba (7 goals), Gutavo Paez (10 goals), Kabamba Musasa (14 goals), and Liberty Masunda (6 goals), amongst others.
At worst, he might be in the longer list of those that failed to meet the expectations and some of whom left without scoring.
