JUST IN: Hunt unveiled at new club!

After a PSL club delayed the inevitable regarding the announcement of Gavin Hunt as their new head coach, the multiple league-winning tactician has finally been unveiled. 

Hunt has been out out of competitive action since being parting company with SuperSport United in March. The Tshwane outfit have since been sold and will be rebranded as Siwelele FC.

His appointment follows weeks of speculation linking the former Kaizer Chiefs boss with a move to KwaZulu-Natal, particularly after the newly promoted side failed to agree on renewal terms with previous head coach Simo Dladla.

"We are thrilled to welcome Gavin to Durban City. His record speaks for itself, and we believe he is the right person to lead our team into this exciting new era." 

"His professionalism, football knowledge and winning mentality are exactly what the Club needs as we strive to compete at the highest level," club chairman Farook Kadodia said via a statement released on Wednesday, as part of Hunt's unveiling.

Like Hunt, City will be aiming to redeem themselves in the Betway Premiership this season after the side was relegated in 2022/23 under the name of Maritzburg United.

The PSL season is scheduled to kick off at the start of August.
