Kaizer Chiefs unbeaten at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth

Amakhosi are set to do battle with Ajax Cape Town for the coveted prize of R8-million on 19 September at a stadium they are yet to taste defeat since its inception on 6 June 2009.

The 46 000-seater stadium hosted it’s first Premier Soccer League match on 20 November 2009 with the Phefeni Glamour Boys overcoming Santos 1-0, thanks to a Reneilwe Letsholonyane goal.

Since then the reigning Absa Premiership champions have played five more competitive matches at the ex-FIFA World Cup stadium are yet to taste defeat, having conceded only one goal in a 1-1 draw with Jomo Cosmos on 15 February 2012.

The upcoming MTN 8 Final will be Chiefs’ seventh league/cup match at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium, and will be hoping to continue their perfect run of results at the 2010 FIFA World Cup venue.

Meanwhile the Urban Warriors will be making their third competitive appearance in ‘The Friendly City’ following their recent Nedbank Cup Final defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns four months ago at the same venue.
