The Clever Boys look amongst the form teams heading into this weekend's MTN 8 quarter-finals, having beaten Chiefs 2-1 in their season opener on Tuesday.
However, Hunt is not yet convinced by his side's showing both after their pre-season campaign as well as their opening victory, and has already targeted a few areas they need to improve on in their next match on Saturday.
"Firstly, we didn't win a game in pre-season so I don't know about form," responded Hunt.
"In years gone by, this [season-opening fixtures] used to be the other way around – 30 years ago when I played we played the top eight game first and then the league, and it was very difficult.
"I actually prefer to play a league game first because it does give you [a view of]... not form, but it does give you a better feel [of where you stand].
"It's important to play the cup game but I don't know about form. I'm certainly not happy with our performance [against Chiefs] on Tuesday.
"I think we can improve in certain areas, but as I've said it's about just getting through that first game."
He concluded: "Obviously Saturday will be another test for us, which is totally different [in how we need to play]."
