Dan Malesela eager to guide Chippa United to MTN8 win

The Chilli Boys were 2-1 victors over Free State Stars midweek as they got their campaign off to the perfect start at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Now, they face an away trip to fulfil a cup obligation against a side who they themselves bagged a win in their first league encounter against SuperSport United.

“The win midweek has raised the spirit in the camp for sure. We going to Platinum Stars with confidence but we are also aware of the task ahead of us,” Malesela told the club's official website.

“I picked up a lot of information from the game on Wednesday [against Free State Stars]. It was our first game of the season following preseason but I will not reveal some of the things we picked up but the information is going to help us ahead of the Platinum Stars game.

“It is a cup game, a knockout so we will need to be a lot tighter as compared to our game on Wednesday. In a league game you have time to recover but cup game is once off."

'Dance' also made it apparent that his side would pursue silverware this season on all fronts.

“We do not want to just make numbers. We have the team and the determination to fight in each and every game we play in starting with the MTN8," he said.
