Ajax released a statement on their website, which reads: 'During the early hours of Sunday morning, Prince Nxumalo suffered multiple epileptic fits and was hospitalised in the Intensive Care Unit of Milpark Netcare hospital in Johannesburg.
'Nxumalo joined the Urban Warriors mid-July from SuperSport United and looked comfortable leading the attack for Ajax, impressing in both the ETV Charity Showdown and Cape Town Cup, respectively.
'The 25-year-old striker then set his sights on leaving his mark on the PSL with Ajax, which he proved by scoring two goals against Maritzburg United and one against Free State Stars in the team’s last two Absa Premiership fixtures.
'Prince was due to start in the second leg semi-finals match against Bidvest Wits on Sunday afternoon, but he was unable to participate due to him suffering multiple epileptic attacks during the early hours of Sunday morning.
'An ambulance rushed the in-form striker to Milpark Netcare hospital where he was placed in the medical Intensive Care Unit, but he is now in a stable condition and has regained consciousness.
'Numerous tests have been done to determine the cause, but we still await the test results. Prince will be transferred to a general ward on Monday, 31 August, and is expected to be discharged from hospital on Tuesday, 1 September.
