Ajax deservedly beat the former Cup holders 1-0 courtesy of Man of the Match Nathan Paulse's 56th minute penalty at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday.
The victory saw the Urban Warriors claim their first trophy since winning the 2008 Telkom Knockout, while it eased the heartache of last season's Nedbank Cup Final loss to Mamelodi Sundowns.
"Our tears of heartache and pain from the past is definitely replaced with tears of joy this time round," Scott tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"The guys did exceptionally well, especially in the first half when we dictated the play.
"Everyone expected Chiefs to do what they do best with all their supporters but we surprised them all.
"The guys really left their hearts on the field and gave it their all.
"We should savour the moment because there is a long season ahead," concludes the 27-year-old, who featured as a late substitute in his seventh cup final on the weekend.
Roger de Sa's charges next visit Sundowns in the Absa Premiership at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.
Ajax top the log with nine points from four games - five points ahead of 10th-placed Downs.
