Following transfer wrangling between Kaizer Chiefs and Cape Town Spurs regarding Asanele Velebayi, the question has been asked on whether there could be more resistance after the Ikamva club's relegation.
Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou is on record admitting they received a couple of offers from Chiefs for Velebayi last season, which they deemed below their valuation.

The bone of convention for was that the Parow-based outfit believed Velebayi had more value, due to the years they spent developing him.
However, after the relegation to the ABC Motsepe League, all their players are expected to become free agents.
However, the Urban Warriors are believed to be entitled to claim training compensation fee for players under the age of 21.
With Velebayi already 22, KickOff.com spoke to FIFA-accredited agent and lawyer Mpho Nkontlha of Nkontlha Attorneys, to find out if Spurs has any more powers to deny players moves, holding out for a transfer fee.
"You need a clearance from the club you were playing for, you can't just go. Even if you're an amateur, you still need a clearance from that club," explained Nkontlha.
"Just like you play for Pele Pele, you leave Pele Pele to play for Cape Town City, you need a clearance. Just like in the PSL, a clearance is required.
"As they leave now, I think they will be granted their clearances, I don't think there will be a fight, it will be a case of 'You're no longer with us, here's your clearance'," said the Pretoria-based legal guru.
"What happens is that the club now will belong to SAFA, it does not belong to the PSL anymore. It's under the auspices of SAFA. The players playing for them in the ABC Motsepe League will be given registration forms only, not contracts. By the end of the season, you're a free agent."

Meaning, Spurs can still claim training compensation fee for Velebayi, even though he is already 22.
