Mamelodi Sundowns’ eighth consecutive league title will come with a rare feat following their victory over Chippa United on Wednesday.
Sundowns have now scored 57 goals, putting them top of the scoring charts with the most goals in a single league campaign since the PSL was cut down to 16 teams at the start of the 2002/03 season.

Beyond that, Wednesday’s victory meant that they have now done a clean job on all their league opponents – this being able to beat all the other 14 teams at least once this season.
Chippa were the latest to surrender three points, joining Cape Town City (twice), Richards Bay FC (twice), Kaizer Chiefs (twice), Sekhukhune United (twice), Marumo Gallants (twice), SuperSport United (twice), TS Galaxy, Orlando Pirates, Golden Arrows, Magesi FC, AmaZulu FC, Stellenbosch FC, and Polokwane City.
While the Tshwane giants have won the league in the last seven years, they have been able to beat all their league opponents at least once in a single campaign on only one occasion.
This happened in the 2022/23 season.
Last term, they failed to beat Cape Town City and in the 2021/22 campaign it was Stellenbosch.
Moroka Swallows and Arrows stood on their way in 2020/21 and the year before it was Baroka FC, Cape Town City, and Pirates, while AmaZulu survived in the 2018/19 season.
The 2017/18 league title was delivered without beating Chiefs.
Of note is that while Miguel Cardoso only took over in December, he has already taken three points from all but one of his opponents.
Only Polokwane City will end the season without having lost to Sundowns since he took over at Chloorkop.
The two league games against the Limpopo club were played before the Portuguese took charge.
"It means the boys have a big commitment and big belief and strong attitude towards the objectives that we have.

"It makes my job easier.
"It gives me a little bit of peace despite the stress of playing matches in such a short period of time," says Cardoso.
