Mamelodi Sundowns restored their 12-point lead at the top of the Betway Premiership table after defeating Chippa United 3-0 on Wednesday night.
Masandawana made four changes from the win over Cape Town City, as Denis Onyango, Malibongwe Khoza, Khuliso Mudau and Jayden Adams replaced Ronwen Williams, Grant Kekana, Thapelo Morena and Lucas Ribeiro.
Bafana Bafana midfielder Teboho Mokoena came close to breaking the deadlock after 11 minutes through a probing effort from range, but he couldn’t beat goalkeper Stanley Nwabali.
Onyango was brought to action minutes later when he charged out of his area to parry a surging cross-cum attempt by Craig Martin.
Sundowns made the breakthrough around the half-hour mark as Iqraam Rayners got in a clear position inside the area and tapped in a low cross from Mudau.
It got worse for the Chilli Boys as a goalkeeping error by Nwabali allowed Adams to sneak in and finished easily five minutes to halftime.
Masandawana threw on a fresh pair of legs after the halftime break as Sphelele Mkhulise stepped on the park to replace Marcelo Allende, who will miss Sunday's clash against Stellenbosch FC.
The Chilli Boys made a positive start to the second half and nearly pulled a goal back through a header from the area by Sinoxolo Kwayiba, but Onyango was able to make the save.
Sundowns regained the momentum inside the last 20 minutes and had a succession of chances by Lucas Ribeiro nearly adding to the cushion, but to no avail.
However, Masandawana eventually added a third goal with ten minutes to go after substitute Thapelo Maseko pounced on a delivery to the area by Sales and finished comfortably, leaving Nwabali with no chance.
There were opportunities for either side in the closing moments to the end, as the Tshwane giants reigned clear emphatically and ever closer to the title.
