Exit push for Chiefs keeper amid struggles

Fiacre Ntwari has been told to leave Kaizer Chiefs in the next transfer window if all the interest building up around his name turns solid.

Ntwari has now spent six months without playing any competitive football at Chiefs.

The 25-year-old arrived from TS Galaxy at the beginning of the season and was the first choice, playing seven games.

Unfortunate for him, he was then dropped, and Bruce Bvuma has since taken over, with Brandon Petersen also in the queue.

With game-time scarce, Ntwari has found his name mentioned with a possibility of an exit with several options being considered, though that will have to come with an offer.

He still has another three years on his contract.

"It is only fair that he leaves Chiefs during the next transfer window because it will not help for him to stay when he is not playing," suggests retired Pelewe Delamogo, who played for Free State Stars and AmaZulu FC.

While Ntwari is from Rwanda, Delamogo hails from neighbouring DR Congo.

"As a national team first-choice keeper, it is important that he should be playing at his club.

"Right now, he is in a tough situation because he is a foreign keeper sitting on the bench.

"So, I believe the boy needs to move.

"I know the money is good at Chiefs, but his career matters more and he needs to be playing.

"Since he is under contract, I hope there will be an offer that Chiefs accepts for him to leave," says Delamogo.

Besides the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday, Amakhosi have two league games to play before the season ends.
