With Mamelodi Sundowns set for a big MTN8 game against Orlando Pirates this weekend, the last thing they would have wanted is a league fixture just three days prior.
Sundowns are set for the second leg of the MTN8 semi-final against Pirates at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, with the first leg in Orlando having ended 1-all.

However, before that, they need to first contend with unpredictable Magesi in league matters. The latter are yet to secure a win in their first two league matches, while Sundowns boast one victory and a draw.
"What helps Sundowns is that we have a large squad capable of handling this week's challenges. A deep pool of players is essential for such games," says Joel 'Fire' Masilela, the former Sundowns marauding winger, speaking to KickOff.com.
"Remember, besides the domestic cup competitions, we still have the CAF Champions League to contend with, so a strong squad is necessary for success.
"To be honest, teams like Magesi FC should not be underestimated. All teams in the Betway Premiership are there to compete.

"Having to play a league game on Wednesday against Magesi, followed by a cup match against Pirates just three days later in the MTN8 semi-final, is going to be tricky.
"Coach Miguel Cardoso must be strategic in how he prepares the team. But I'm confident we will win tonight, as the players will be eager to earn their place in the line-up for the match against Pirates," he noted.
Kick-off is at 19:30.
