Magesi out to inflict another scar on Downs

If Magesi FC live up to their war talk ahead of Wednesday's tie against Mamelodi Sundowns, then the defending champions could be in for yet another setback in this early period of the season. 

The reigning Carling Knockout winners host Sundowns at the Seshego Stadium tonight (19:30), where three points will be vital for both sides. 

The Dikwena tsa Meetse camp has declared itself well prepared for a fight.

"Currently, we are playing some exciting football. Since John Maduka took over, our style has reached another level," shares assistant coach Jacky Ledwaba.

"If you look at our first two games this season, we dominated play. Our ball possession against Polokwane City and Stellenbosch FC showed that we are strong and capable.

"This indicates that we are indeed on a different level now, which means we can compete with Mamelodi Sundowns.

"This season, our goals have changed compared to last season. We aim to finish in the Top Eight.

"It's no secret that Sundowns are still hurting from what happened in the Carling Knockout final. They were completely confident it would be an easy match, but we ended up breaking their hearts," he added.

The former PSL Golden Boot winner also encourage their fans to come out in large numbers to support the team.

"We will strive to fly the Limpopo province flag high. Our fans are our 12th player, after all.

"I see that Arthur Sales at Sundowns is in great form, along with Iqraam Rayners. They are both very dangerous players. It will be a tough challenge facing them."
