Rulani praises Sundowns ball boys

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has defended his team's ball boys after alleged delayed the restart of the DStv Premiership match against AmaZulu in Tshwane last week Tuesday.

A ball boy belonging to Sundowns was handed a red card after delayed in bringing the ball onto the pitch for a goal kick to AmaZulu.

A similar incident happened again when the Brazilians hosted TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League match in Atteridgeville after a ball boy belonging to the home team was shown a red card on Saturday.

Masandawana ball boys have come under heavy scrutiny at home, especially during the Champions League where their alleged delay tactics have caused frustrations for visiting teams.

Mokwena says has seen nothing wrong with Sundowns ball boys' behavior on the field of play and reserved special PRAISE for their work during both the DStv premiership and CAF Champions League.

"They are very important. I can't take credit for that. I think the people responsible for ball boys are doing very good work and I think also the club is very experienced in that space," Mokwena told the media after the Champions League match against TP Mazembe at the Lucas Moripe stadium on Saturday.

"The management of the team and the people around the team deserve credit for that. I can't take credit for that but it's very important. I think it happened if not at Chelsea then I think it happened at Tottenham (Hotspur) if I am not mistaken something similar happened with Jose (Mourinho)," he added.

The Brazilians are set to travel to Nelspruit to face TS Galaxy in the DStv premiership match at the Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday.
