The newly crowned Absa Premiership champions will tackle the La Liga champions in a clash dubbed ‘Champions vs Champion’ at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening (18h15).
Having just shown their prowess by clinching the league title, Morena believes they will now become students against the likes of Lionel Messi and company.
“It’s going to be something that we’ll learn from, and we’re going to do what we have to do,” said Morena.
“The things that we have to learn we’ll just have to accept, and Percy knows – he likes to watch Messi so he’s going to learn from him while looking at him from the other side of the pitch.”
The 24-year-old star, who celebrates his birthday today, feels it comes as an opportunity to test their expertise gained in previous international challenges.
“It’s going to be a great game. We also want to see if they can deal with the things that we do at Sundowns,” added Tau.
“We know them – we’ve watched them, but then we also want to see if they can deal with our [attacking] movement as well.
“We can also test ourselves, because we’ve tested ourselves at the FIFA Club World Cup, where we picked up a few things.
“Now we want to test ourselves against the best and see what we can do.”
With Energy Minister Jeff Radebe having recently punted the battle between the Bafana Bafana star and Argentine skipper, Tau says he has no reason to feel pressure as the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is simply “on another level.”
“Maybe it [the comparisons] is because we both use our left foot. But no, it’s not pressure, I’ll never compare myself to that guy – he’s on another level,” he emphasised.
Tickets for the much-anticipated clash have sold like hot-cakes, with a full house expected for the midweek encounter.
