Kaizer Chiefs defender Bradley Cross has explained what happened last season, while also coming out to embrace the competition that he is facing this season at left-back.
Chiefs won their first two league games last season, getting past Marumo Gallants in the first before downing AmaZulu FC in the second to pocket all six points, just like they have done this season.

Unfortunately, they then crumbled, picking up a single point from the next three as they ultimately sunk to a disappointing ninth place finish, 41 points behind champions Mamnelodi Sundowns.
"It has been a good start for us with two wins," says Cross.
"I think we just have to stay grounded because there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance.
"So, we just have to take it game by game.
"Like I said, there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance.
"I think last season we got a bit overexcited when we started off, but I think we have learnt from that.
"We have said to each other that let us take every game step by step, one game at a time," he adds, while taking note of the competition he will face and the criticism that he has had to deal with.
The Naturena-based outfit have Nkanyiso Shinga and Paseka Mako at left-back.
"Firstly, for me, I think having competition is good.
"You improve and don’t get complacent.
"So, having the guys in the same position helps me improve.
"It is also good for the squad depth.

"It is normal to receive constructive criticism.
"I think it helps me as a player to improve.
"To help the team to go forward, I need to improve whether I make mistakes or not.
"There is also healthy competition in that position," he notes.
