Orlando Pirates rallied from behind to snatch a 2-1 victory over Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8 semi-final first leg on Sunday afternoon.
A goal from the in-form Zakhele Lepasa and a stoppage time winner from Deon Hotto was enough to see the Buccaneers through against ten-man Stellenbosch.
Stellies were once again handicapped by a red card, with Thabo Moloisane receiving his marching orders for a harsh challenge on Patrick Maswanganyi.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "Pirates snatch late winner at 10-man Stellies" story:
"Well done MaBhakaniya, we must defend this Cup. I wish the final to be a Soweto derby!" says mathemusa77.
"Stellies' best header of the ball was marked by Hotto, who is not good with his head, where was Xoki, Sibisi and Lepasa? but u still have clueless people blaming Chaine, for the two headed goals we scored, also blame their keeper. Thanks Ntwana Tito [Maswanganyi] for the 2 assists," says Zam d king buccaneer.
"Can we play at least a full 90 minutes without conceding. Chaine needs to take a good look at himself. The corner is taken from left to right and he did not attack the ball or readjust his position," says Fela.
"Our coach Riverio is slowly creating a nuclear weapon and he hasn't used it, he's still testing it. Up the Bucs," says morewasn.
"I so wish Chiefs will join Pirates. This world yearns for a Chiefs vs Pirates cup final," says Danito 4 Life.
"Pirates is such a big team. A giant even on the African continent. But there is always something that is lacking , when they play, the country doesn't erupt like when the underperforming Chiefs plays. Sundowns is also such a huge giant but the same thing is lacking from them.
"I suppose there are just teams in the world that bring some hype around them and there are some who only matter to those who support them. I guess we all have to accept that there are teams like Real Madrid, Juventus, Man United and Chiefs, who will always create hype even at their lowest," says Sthe Lucipher.
"Good luck Buccaneers, surely you can do better than Chiefs who had to pay the ref for a red card to Stellies," says Eduardo Dos Santos.
Read: Ntseki issues verdict on new striker Gonzalez's debut
Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki shared his verdict on Jasond Gonzalez's debut on Saturday in the MTN8 against Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Colombian striker came on as a half time substitute in Chiefs' 1-1 draw in the first league at the FNB Stadium against Downs.
Ntseki says they're hard at work to help Gonzalez understand the league, opponents and tactical approach of the team.
He also mentioned that they need to create the right environment for Gonzalez to hit the ground running at the club without a pre-season with them.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "Ntseki issues verdict on new striker Gonzalez's debut" story:
"He's a wrestler that one," says Shikabala.
"Dolly will be there in the second leg and this Gonzalez guy will be in a better condition and would have acclimatised to the Mzansi conditions," says Rio Da Khosi.
"We have scored against Sundowns in the past two meetings, so this away goal advantage is a myth. Just go there and score first. Marabastad will be flooded with tears in the second leg," says Dr Mthimkhulu.
"You speak as if we were the ones who suggested that you put him in, when he hasn't even played one single league game. That was a dubious decision from a logical point of view between you and your technical team," says Sir_Zovic.
"This one would be good in Basketball," says Sthe Lucipher.
"From the Airport straight into the starting eleven, Ayi ayi!! Desperation," says ngwanamoshate.70.
"Let me reserve my comments for now, but coach we need a number 10 at Kaizer Chiefs, we need someone like Mshishi, someone like Sirino or Serero.
"I see a good combination between Du Preez and Gonzalez but there is no number 10 there. I thought Matlou would rise to the occasion but I was wrong, he isn't promising at all.." says Sk wa Le khosi.
"We also need a proven left back before the transfer window closes. Serero would complete the puzzle," says Bamjee.
"Yes, Serero would be perfect, plus you like them free. But with a left back, I think there's enough, If only Ntseki could stop with his selection of Hlanti, he surely isn't better than a fit Edmilson Dover and think at this stage, Happy can't do worse there.
"But you know with coaches, once they prefer a certain player they can't do wrong in the eyes," replies Lesoganatsoko.
