The Buccaneers secured a major partnership by naming Amstel Lager as their official beer sponsor, a move the club described as "a refreshing shift in taste, tone, and tradition" for the game.
Amongst the many attendees was Jele, who spent the majority of his professional career with the Soweto giants. The ever-composed defender took to social media to share photos alongside fellow club legends and Dr. Khoza, highlighting the strong bond they still share.
Now seemingly retired from professional football, Jele expressed his support for the Pirates-Amstel partnership, calling it a smart and exciting collaboration for both parties.
"Today I had the honour of attending the Orlando Pirates x Amstel partnership launch," Jele posted on Instagram.
"A powerful collaboration between two iconic brands that represent heritage, excellence and community.
"This partnership marks a new era for the legendary club, celebrating not only its rich history but also its continued influence in shaping South African football culture.
"It’s more than just a sponsorship…it’s a celebration of legacy, unity and the pride of the black and white."
