Qatar SC set to announce Ribeiro?

According to reports from across the continent, Brazilian star Lucas Ribeiro Costa is said to on the verge of signing with a new club.

Ribeiro has reportedly been in talks with several suitors over the past few weeks, amid growing speculation that he is set to leave Mamelodi Sundowns.

local reports claim that the talented attacker stopped training with the Betway Premiership side after receiving offers from several clubs. This development follows his standout performances at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, held between June and July.

Ribeiro started all three group-stage matches, scoring once and providing an assist for Downs. He made his mark against German giants Borussia Dortmund and South Korean side Ulsan HD, while also shining in a clash against his boyhood club, Fluminense, from Brazil.

The 26-year-old was more outstanding in the Betway Premiership last season, where he netted 16 goals and registered nine assists in just 26 league matches.

His exceptional performances saw him sweep four major PSL awards recently, namely, the PSL Footballer of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, the Golden Boot, and Goal of the Season.

Unsurprisingly, several clubs have reportedly been battling to secure his signature. According to Win Win, it appears that Qatar SC, Tau’s former team, has won the race.

WinWin reports that Ribeiro is set to be unveiled as Qatar SC’s newest signing soon, after the Qatari Stars League outfit reached an agreement with Sundowns for his transfer.
