Nabi’s job uncertainty at Chiefs still on

KickOff.com has gathered that Nasreddine Nabi’s job at Kaizer Chiefs remains not entirely secure despite still having another year on his contract.

Chiefs have completed their league season with disappointing returns after failing to break into the Top Eight again.

This becomes the first time in the club’s history that they have finished outside the Top Eight in consecutive years after also ending 10th last term.

Amakhosi could still sink lower than ninth position depending on what happens in Magesi FC and Golden Arrows’ outstanding games against Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United respectively.

This website has been informed that Nabi has divided the decision-makers at Chiefs.

The majority of those in management have had their confidence in the TunisianBelgian washed away by what has happened through the course of the season.

Sitting on Nabi’s side is Kaizer Motaung Jnr, the Sporting Director.

What has caused the friction for those not in favour of him staying is what has happened in the league considering that he is an expensive coach earning over R700 000.

Though the Nedbank Cup was delivered with Nabi in charge at the club, the team’s performance in the Betway Premiership has been a concern.

Chiefs only won twice in the last second half of the season, which was a run of 14 games.

Those wins were against Stellenbosch FC and Magesi and were beaten by Orlando Pirates, Marumo Gallants, Golden Arrows, Richards Bay FC, Mamelodi Sundowns, and SuperSport United.

There are technical elements that have been questioned about Nabi, which has placed confidence more on his assistants Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaize.

Ben Youssef joined with Nabi at the start, while Kaze then came in after Fernando Da Cruz left.

The input of Ben Youssef and Kaze has been identified as being of value.

This is a developing story with meetings this week.
