ANOTHER ONE: New midfielder at Chiefs

In what has been a busy day in the Kaizer Chiefs' communications department, a third signing of the transfer window has walked through the doors at Naturena, as announced by the club.

The Soweto giants confirmed via their social media platforms the signing of South African UK-based midfielder Ethan Chislett on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old is a product of the Southampton Academy and has enjoyed spells with Port Vale and AFC Wimbledon in the lower tiers of English football.

He registered 16 goals and eight assists in 82 matches for Port Vale.

Chislett is a third Amakhosi signing in the July transfer window following the confirmed rivals of defender Nkanyiso Shinga and striker Flavio Silva, both also unveiled on Tuesday.

The attacking midfielder, though, will still face stiff competition for a starting place with the likes of Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Mduduzi Shabalala, and Gaston Sirino also able to slot into the number 10 role.

Chiefs will have the trio of arrivals travelling with the rest of the squad for the pre-season tour of the Netherlands on Thursday, where they will play a string of  friendlies before returning to South Africa on 19 July.

The Toyota Cup clash against Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko has been set for 26 July.

Importantly, Chislett, who has dual South African and British citizenship, will not need a visa for the trip, as will be the case with Shinga and Silva.
