This sunk him to amongst the worst strikers that have worn the Gold and Black colours.
The towering striker didn't even compare to the man he replaced, in Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, who scored eight goals in 21 appearances before being pushed out.
Gonzalez failed to play any match from start to finish, including the four that he started.
It now appears his parent club Real Santa Cruz in Bolivia might be having other plans minus him as they seek to get out of the troubles that have left them with one win and 10 defeats in 12 games this year.
In seeking solutions, Santa Cruz have turned to Colombia in recruiting Jhon Pajoy and Brayan Moreno.
Pajoy (35) is a veteran winger who was most recently with Miami United, while Moreno joins after a brief spell in Azerbaijan and will be tasked with leading the attack.
