Nabi: Chiefs star can reach double digits IF...

Head coach Nasreddine Nabi has backed a Kaizer Chiefs attacker to reach double digits should he overcome one stumbling block.

Chiefs' Top Eight ambitions suffered another setback as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

They had to battle from behind through Glody Lilepo's equaliser after Mpho Rammala had put the home side ahead in the first half.

Despite the poor results, both Nabi and the Amakhosi faithful can take whatever comfort there is in Lilepo's impact, who is now the club's top goal scorer despite only signing in January.

The goal was the sixth of the season for the Congolese international and a third in a third consecutive league match.

Nabi believes it is only the beginning for Lilepo, whom he also revealed is not in peak physical condition.

"You can see that he’s a player that sometimes doesn’t finish games because his full potential has not been reached yet," the Tunisian-Belgian told journalists post-match.

"But we feel that once he reaches his full physical potential, he will be used to his teammates, having a good pre-season. He’s a player who can do more than what he does right now.

"He is a player who is a winger, but those wingers (who) can easily finish the league with 10 goals.

"He’s a winger who likes to get inside, likes to score, and he is looking all the time at opportunities to score or to make his teammate score.

"And we believe that he can even do more than that," says Nabi.

Chiefs will hope to have Lilepo firing on all cylinders when they take on Polokwane City in their last match of the season at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
