Chiefs' Msimango pens heartfelt message

Kaizer Chiefs defender Given Msimango has penned a heartfelt message to the Amakhosi faithful.

The 27-year-old has endured a frustrating second season at Amakhosi, which saw his playing time reduced to just 11 appearances this season - a far cry from the 30 appearances he made in his first season at Chiefs.

As puzzling as his omission has been to most Amakhosi supporters, injuries have also not helped the former TS Galaxy captain.

Msimango is unlikely to feature in Chiefs' two remaining matches as he nurses a groin injury.

However, he has taken to the social media platform Instagram to express his delight at being part of the Amakhosi group that ended a 10-year trophy drought.

"After more than 10 years, Kaizer Chiefs are champions again and I am beyond honoured to be part of the team that brought the Nedbank Cup home," Msimango wrote.

"From the moment I arrived, I carried a fire in my heart, a mission. I came here to help bring the glory back, and today, I can proudly say we’ve taken a massive step toward that.

"This group of players…….Bafowethu.We’ve been through so much together this season and the last, but our bond, our fight, and our belief never broke. When we stand united, nothing can break us. And if we stay this way…together…we’ll only grow stronger from here.

The defender has also come under some fire from Amakhosi supporters this season, but Msimango insists there is no bad blood and remains grateful to the Khosi nation.

"To you, the Amakhosi faithful….This moment isn’t just about lifting a trophy….it’s about resilience, purpose, and pride," he added.

"Through the highs and lows, you…The fans, the ones who’ve stood by me, never gave up on me. Your love carried me. Your belief fueled me. And for that, I’m forever grateful.

"As my season comes to a close, I know this is not the end. It’s only the beginning of what’s to come. I’ll be back stronger, wiser, and ready for everything the next chapter holds.

"From the depths of my heart, thank you. This one is for you.
