'Why would we want to let him go now?'

With Nasreddine Nabi looking like a 'dead man walking' in matters pertaining to his Kaizer Chiefs future, the club's management has been advised to not throw caution to the wind.

After winning the Nedbank Cup following an end-to-end Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates on Saturday, Nabi accomplished what his predecessors could not. His new nickname, 'Moses', will always resonate with the fanbase, who have long been longing for silverware.

"How do you replace someone who ends your 10-year trophy drought in his first season?" asks Zebulon Nhlapo.

"He deserves a chance. He was given an opportunity, and finally, we have a cup to celebrate. The man has truly done his best to restore the club's dignity, even though it has been a challenging journey.

"He utilised his skills to get us to this point, and the supporters stood by him through thick and thin. Chiefs have loyal supporters who remain faithful even during tough times. The stadiums are always full.

"Now, it is up to the club officials to show their support by giving the coach another opportunity. Uzanayo manje (He's coming along). It’s not right to sack him now that he is finally implementing his vision.

"Every year, we change coaches, but this current one has found his rhythm. Why would we want to let him go now?" says the man nicknamed 'Sputla'.

Furthermore, Nhlapo says the way Nabi's charges performed at Moses Mabhida showed their seriousness and commitment.

"For how long will we continue this cycle at Chiefs? Each time we change coaches, we start from scratch. This is a big club, and we cannot keep rebuilding."

Next up is Sekhukhune United this weekend in a crucial Betway Premiership clash that will potentially decide their fate when it comes to next season's MTN8.
