Mamelodi Sundowns will touch down at OR Tambo after the end of their Club World Cup campaign walking with pride for what they did on the field but also smiling all the way to the bank.
Sundowns landed in the USA already guaranteed the participation fee of USD9,55 million (approx. R169 million).

Then the 1-0 win against Ulsan HD earned them USD2 million (approx. R35 million), which is the amount offered for a group stage win.
There were no earnings after the defeat to Borussia Dortmund, but the goalless draw against Fluminense on Wednesday came with USD1 million (approx. R17,65 million).
However, each yellow card at this tournament has carried a cost of USD12 000 (approx. R212 000) on the club.
Teboho Mokoena (twice), Tashreeq Matthews, Marcelo Allende, and Kutlwano Letlhaku all got cautions, which means minus USD60 000 (approx. R1,06 million).
This means the Sundowns pot from the Club World Cup will have approximately R220,59 million depending on the prevailing rates.
The other millions already secured by the club for the 2024/25 season include the R20 million Betway Premiership winners’ cheque.
They pocketed USD2 million (approx. R35 million) for finishing as runners-up in the CAF Champions League.

This is minus the other lower amounts they made from the MTN8 (R1 million), Carling Knockout (R2,6 million), and Nedbank Cup (R1 million), which totals R4,6 million.
This brings their total to just over R280 million.
